WHAT WE DO
APEAR works to advance Employee Assistance practice and workplace wellbeing across the Asia-Pacific. We do this by bringing together professionals, setting ethical standards, promoting training, and hosting events that connect and strengthen the regional EA community.
OUR OBJECTIVES
-
Promote the business case for Employee Assistance (EA) – Demonstrating the value of EAP and workplace mental health programs to HR, occupational health, and business leaders.
-
Advance clinical practice and application – Supporting better understanding of EA models, practices, and outcomes.
-
Set regional standards – Developing guidelines and a Code of Ethics for EA practitioners and providers.
-
Foster regional and global exchange – Creating opportunities for dialogue within Asia-Pacific and with EA organizations worldwide.
HOW WE DELIVER OUR MISSION
APEAR turns vision into action by connecting people and ideas. We equip professionals with training, set high standards through regional guidelines, and host events that bring the Employee Assistance community together — ensuring that EA continues to grow in impact across Asia-Pacific.
CORE ACTIVITIES
Fundamentals of Employee Assistance Training
Our Fundamentals of EA training introduces the core principles and practices of Employee Assistance, designed for both new and experienced professionals. The program builds understanding of how EAPs support employee wellbeing and organisational performance, with a focus on clinical models, business integration, and ethical standards. Delivered in collaboration with regional experts, this training helps strengthen professional practice across Asia-Pacific.
Annual Conference & Roundtable
APEAR’s annual conference is the region’s premier gathering for Employee Assistance professionals. The event brings together practitioners, business leaders, and global partners for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and networking. Through keynote sessions, workshops, and roundtable discussions, the conference provides fresh insights, showcases best practices, and fosters stronger connections across the Asia-Pacific EA community.
