INVITATION TO SUBMIT PRESENTATION PROPOSAL

The Asia Pacific Employee Assistance Roundtable is pleased to announce that its Annual Conference will be held in Taipei, Taiwan from 17 – 18 May 2007. Our theme for this year's conference " Using Employee Assistance Programs for Organisational and Human Resource Effectiveness " which reflects an increasing awareness about the need for businesses to build its organisational and people resources to remain competitive.

Continuing the success of past conferences, this Conference aims to address regional and people issues in a timely and engaging fashion that brings quality information, valuable insight and the opportunity for participants to challenge and network with other regional and international EAP, Mental Health, HR, Occupational & Safety Professionals and Business Leaders.

Possible topics that could be addressed

• Using organisational strategies like EAP to improve ROIs
• Core principles and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Technology
• Behavioral risk management and improper workplace behaviour
• Role of EAPs in Threat Assessment of threatening and dangerous employees
• Coaching for Work Performance in a virtual environment
• Workplace Counselling Skills for people managers and supervisors
• Diversity training ideas for better organisational effectiveness
• Training managers to cope with multi-cultural workplace challenges

People management and EAP professionals from the Asian countries, as well as Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Europe are invited to present brief papers on current issues and professional EAP practice and those related to the Conference theme. Presentations should be NO MORE THAN 90 MINUTES IN DURATION.

Please submit the following to the APEAR Organizing Committee for selection BY February 28, 2007 5pm Taipei time (GMT +8 hours) :

• Abstract and Outline of the presentation
• Approximate duration of the presentation
• Brief CV

Information for interested presenters

As a presenter, you agree to:

1. To submit your proposal online latest by February 28, 2007 5pm Taipei time (GMT +8 hours)
2. To present only educational information. You agree not to promote or sell products or services before, during and after your session.
3. To pay your personal travel expenses and Conference registration fees. APEAR does no provide you any honorarium.
4. To provide an electronic version of presentation handouts and/or powerpoint slides latest by April 16 2007 5pm Taipei time.
